Heaton Press

In May 2004 Heaton Press invested in Computer to Plate (CTP) technology. This has revolutionized the printing industry by omitting the film stage of plate making and increasing the quality of dot on the printed sheet.

Here we use an ECRM Mako 4 plate setter, complimented by a Fuji Plate Processor. This has reduced turnaround times and made the plate-making stages much more cost effective.

Once design and plate-making is complete, the job reaches our press room, which now houses Heidelberg and Roland Presses, cutting and creasing, MBO folder, two guillotines and in house stitching. At each stage, one of our highly competent staff carries out checking and quality control to ensure that we make your print work for you.

The most recent step in our evolution came in 2005, when we installed a Heidelberg Speedmaster 74, 5 colour and coating, printing press. This enabled us to increase workflow and quality of print at a reduced price. However, this is indicative of many advances in the business – not just in the press room!

Clients can be confident that we keep up with the latest technology, putting Heaton Press in a strong position to service any design and print or print requirement.
